Start with the complete signal, not one number

A Stock_BOT signal contains several fields that describe the detected setup. No individual field should be treated as a guarantee or used alone to make a financial decision.

Direction

BUY or SELL describes the direction detected by the scanner. It is a research classification, not an order to enter a trade.

Signal quality

Confidence and rank help compare the strength of the scanner conditions with other available signals.

Risk context

ATR, stop, target and risk-to-reward provide context about volatility and the proposed setup structure.

Stock_BOT signal fields explained

Symbol and market The symbol identifies the stock, ETF, sector or index. The market field shows which supported market group produced the result.
BUY or SELL direction BUY indicates technical conditions associated with potential upward movement. SELL indicates conditions associated with potential weakness or downward movement. Neither direction guarantees the next price move.
Confidence Confidence summarizes how strongly the current conditions match the scanner rules. A value such as 80% does not mean there is an 80% guaranteed probability of profit.
Rank score Rank score helps order available signals according to the scanner's internal filtering. It is most useful for comparison between signals generated under similar market conditions.
Setup type Setup type describes the technical pattern or category detected by the scanner. Different setups may behave differently during trending, volatile or sideways markets.
ATR14 ATR14 measures recent average price movement over fourteen periods. A higher ATR generally means larger recent price ranges, while a lower ATR means quieter movement.
Stop price The stop field provides a possible risk reference for the detected setup. It is not personalized for your account, position size or acceptable loss.
Target price The target field provides a possible reference level based on the setup. Markets can reverse before reaching it or move beyond it.
Risk-to-reward Risk-to-reward compares the approximate distance to the target with the approximate distance to the stop. A larger ratio does not guarantee that the target will be reached.
Technical reasons Reasons show which available indicators or conditions contributed to the signal, such as momentum, trend, volatility or moving-average behavior.
Signal age Signal age shows how much time has passed since generation. Older signals may be less relevant because price and market conditions can change.
Bar time Bar time identifies the market-data period used when the scanner detected the setup. It helps distinguish the data timestamp from the time the page was opened.

A practical signal review checklist

1. Check when the signal was generated Confirm the signal age and current market price before reviewing anything else.
2. Confirm the direction on the current chart Review whether current price action still supports the BUY or SELL direction.
3. Read the technical reasons Understand which conditions created the signal instead of relying only on confidence.
4. Compare confidence and rank Use the values to compare scanner results, not as guaranteed probabilities.
5. Review ATR and volatility Consider whether recent price movement is suitable for your risk tolerance.
6. Examine stop, target and risk-to-reward Decide whether the proposed structure fits your personal strategy and acceptable loss.
7. Check external market conditions Review broader market direction, liquidity, company news and scheduled economic events.

Common mistakes when reading signals

Using confidence as a guarantee

Confidence measures agreement with scanner conditions. It does not predict the future with certainty.

Ignoring signal age

A technically strong signal may no longer be relevant after a large price move or important news event.

Ignoring volatility

ATR and current price movement can materially affect stop distance, position sizing and potential loss.

Entering without independent review

Stock_BOT filters research ideas. It does not replace current chart analysis or personal risk rules.

Looking only at the target

A target is only a reference level. The possible loss and probability of failure also require consideration.

Risking the same amount on every setup

Different symbols and volatility conditions can require different position-sizing decisions.
